The books were purchased in memory of Diane
T. Holik, our fellow classmate,
who we all know now, lost her life tragically on November 16th, 2001. All of the books
relate to the topic of Dogs because Mrs. Holik requested it, due to Diane's love of her
two dogs, and the many hours she donated to Largo Vista P.A.W.S.
Kim delivered the books on Sat. Feb.
16th, to the Montgomery Free Library. Diane's Mother
met Kim there, and her Dad stopped in briefly to say thank you.
Kim thought it would be nice if Diane's parents were the
ones who put the special book plates in
the sixteen books that were donated. It had been 3
months since Diane's death and they were honored to be asked.
The Book plates are a golden retriever with eyeglasses
at the end of his nose looking at a book.
They say: From the library of (which is standard on the
plate) Montgomery Free Library In Memory of Diane T.
Holik November 16, 2001
Diane's mom has asked us to thank everyone for their
kindness and generosity to them during the loss of
their daughter, the books not only brought pride and
honor, but tears. I told her, I would let you all know
how much they appreciated what the Class of '76 did in
honor of our fellow classmate and friend.
So thank you to all the classmates that gave so generously.
